College issues consensual reprimand to Dr. Mark Kazimirski

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia has issued a reprimand to Dr. Kazimirski, a family practitioner in Windsor, Nova Soctia, as final resolution to a complaint in relation to certain services performed by Dr. Kazimirski in his Observership of an International Medical Graduate. That is, Dr. Kazimirski’s MSI billings and other practices outlined below amounted to professional misconduct:

Submission of billings to MSI and receipt of payment for twelve medical services provided by an International Medical Graduate to patients on August 15 and 22, 2005.

Failure to abide by his Sponsorship Agreement with the College and Capital District Health Authority with regard to the location of the Observership

Failure to follow the College’s policy regarding Clinical Observership for International Medical Graduates.

Failure to adhere to the terms of his correspondence with the Capital District Health Authority outlining the intended scope of the International Medical Graduate’s clinical activities.

Dr. Kazimirski has agreed to repay to MSI any monies inappropriately paid to him for medical services provided by the International Medical Graduate on August 15 and 22, 2005.

The Committee’s decision constitutes a finding of professional misconduct and will be entered on Dr. Kazimirski’s formal discipline record.
