On September 30, the College joins with all Nova Scotians in observing National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. August 1 is Emancipation Day

The College joins with Nova Scotians to commemorate Emancipation Day on August 1st.  Emancipation Day is the day the British parliament abolished slavery across its empire, including Canada on August 1st, 1834.  It marks the end of the practice of slavery of African people and their descendants around the world.[...]

The Welcome Collaborative’s next 3-day orientation session is September 13-15 2023, at the offices of the College. The Welcome Collaborative is a new orientation program designed to help physicians who have trained outside of Canada and issued a Defined licence, to integrate successfully into the Nova Scotian healthcare system. Canada’s National Indigenous Peoples Day provides an opportunity to recognize the many achievements of the country’s Indigenous peoples. Government Notified College of Privacy Breach

The College has just been advised by the provincial government that information related to College registrants routinely requested by government and provided by the College has been stolen.  The government holds this information on the system MOVIEIT. Earlier this week the governmentannounced a cybersecurity breach involving data housed on the system MOVEIT. The College does not know the extent of the breach, or the registrants involved.
