Preamble The Medical Act Regulations1 require all registrants to have the current capacity, competence and character for safe and ethical practise. This is relevant at the time of initial registration or licensing, while licensed and at the time of annual licensing renewal. As such, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (the College) requires criminal record screening to assist in its mandate to protect the public interest.

PURPOSE This policy describes the process and provisions for translation of all documents required for registration or licensure in Nova Scotia. SCOPE This policy applies to candidates applying for licensure in Nova Scotia whose application documents are not written in English.
Purpose This policy sets out the source verification standards accepted by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. Policy Primary‐source verification of qualifications is a fundamental part of credentialing.
