Review Cycle
Purpose
To establish the review cycle for the peer review program. This cycle will determine how often a physician is expected to participate in and complete the peer review process. The review cycle takes into account the number of physicians eligible for review and the College’s resources.
Policy Statement
Eligible physicians in Nova Scotia, when selected, are required to complete the peer review process.
In usual circumstances, the peer review cycle will be once every 7 years.
Based on the results of a peer review, and at the discretion of the Peer Review Committee, some physicians may be required to complete the review process more often.
