Issue 4: December 2022
Report from Council
The College’s Council is the governing board of the College. The Council includes physician members elected by physicians and public members appointed by the College through a nominations process. The College’s Council and committees aim to provide a well-balanced and equitable approach to the regulation of medicine.
At its December 9th, 2022 meeting, Council approved the College’s 2023 operating and capital budgets.
The Council also acknowledged the importance of the College’s new licensing pathway for internationally trained medical graduates. The pathway, offering a six-month condensed supervision period for Defined licensees (DLs), went into effect on September 1, 2022. So far, 13 new DLs have started on the new pathway.
