Continuing professional development (CPD) plays a key role in ongoing practice improvement for podiatrists

How it works

Continuing professional development (CPD) is a vital part of practising podiatry in Nova Scotia. We believe that ongoing learning supports professional competence and promotes the delivery of safe, effective, evidence‑informed patient care.

Nova Scotia has enacted the Regulated Health Professions Act, which establishes modern regulatory principles including public protection, transparency, fairness, and continuing competence. All licensed podiatrists MUST participate in a program of continuing professional development.

Your participation

Whether you are obtaining your Nova Scotia podiatrist licence for the first time or renewing it annually, you are required to meet the CPD requirements as set forth by the Podiatry Advisory Council and tracked via Ultimate Podiatrist. You must:
