Preamble
In accordance with the Medical Act, the purpose and duties of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (the College) are to serve and protect the public interest in the practice of medicine, and to preserve the integrity and maintain public confidence of the medical profession in the ability of the College to regulate the practice of medicine.
Scope
All registrants must hold a licence to engage in practice in Nova Scotia. This policy applies to all medical registers and all licence types in Nova Scotia.
Policy
It is the policy of the College that no licences will be made retroactive for any reason.
