Key Frameworks
All assessment activities are guided by the principle of patient safety and public trust. Our mandate is to ensure physicians provide safe and effective care. These documents explain how assessments work and what’s expected.
Supervision framework (Defined licence)
Explains how supervision works for physicians with a provisional licence. Covers roles, timelines, reporting requirements, and fees. It’s a guide for both supervisors and supervised physicians.
Approval of Assessors and
Outlines how to assess a physician’s readiness to practice independently. Includes orientation, coaching, and final evaluation phases. Used for new-to-practice physicians or those returning after time away.
Comprehensive Clinical Assessment of Practice (CCAP) Framework
Details how a CCAP is conducted—usually over 3–5 days in the physician’s own practice. Sets standards, tools used, and what happens if a physician declines the assessment.
