How to find a family doctor in Nova Scotia

If you don’t have a family doctor, the first step is to register with the Need a Family Practice Registry. This is the official waitlist managed by Nova Scotia Health. You can sign up online or by calling 811.

Once you’re registered:

you’ll be matched with a provider when one becomes available in your area
while waiting, you can use VirtualCareNS (available to people on the registry), visit walk‑in clinics, or go to emergency care for urgent needs
