College suspends license of Dr. David Sheehy

Dr. David Sheehy, a family medicine specialist in Shubenacadie, served a one-month period of suspension of his license to practice medicine in August 2006 and is authorized to continue in practice subject to the following restriction:

Dr. Sheehy shall not engage in elective psychotherapy or counselling of patients as described in the Settlement Agreement approved by the Hearing Committee of the College on Jan 3, 2007.

This restriction shall remain in effect until July 1, 2008.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship.
