College issues a consensual reprimand of Dr. Erin MacLean-Fraser

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that as a result of a complaint and pursuant to the Medical Act, Dr. Erin MacLean-Fraser has accepted a reprimand and conditions issued by the College.

Dr. MacLean-Fraser was reprimanded for a number of deficiencies in her medical practice. A reprimand is a sanction that is entered on a doctor's formal discipline record. In addition to the reprimand, Dr. MacLean-Fraser's licence is subject to the following conditions:

  1. She must participate in a follow-up audit at her expense 6 months after returning to practice. This audit will be arranged through the College's Physician Performance Department and will assess her performance clinically and professionally.
  2. She will be subject to a program of supervision overseen by the College's Physician Performance Department pending her follow-up audit. The primary purpose of the supervision will be to ensure that Dr. MacLean-Fraser is meeting her professional responsibilities with respect to charting, documentation, and dictations.
  3. She must complete at her expense the Record Keeping Course offered at Western University, within 3 months of returning to practice.
