College announces decision regarding Dr. Jalal Baghaee

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that by the decision dated August 6, 2015, the Investigation Committee approved an agreement between the College and Dr. Baghaee. The agreement states that Dr. Baghaee’s licence to practise medicine was revoked effective March 3, 2015. The agreement also permits Dr. Baghaee to apply for the reinstatement of his Defined Licence, with additional conditions, after the expiration of a minimum period of 3 months, if all criteria for the issuing of a Defined Licence are met.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
