College announces decision regarding Dr. Bradley Atkinson

The College gives notice of a Settlement Agreement reached between the College and Dr. Bradley Atkinson, approved by the Hearing Committee of the College on May 31, 2018. The written decision of the Hearing Committee with reasons for the approval of the Settlement Agreement will be provided when available and published on the College’s website when released.

The effect of this Settlement Agreement is to immediately lift the suspension of Dr. Atkinson’s license to practise medicine imposed in June, 2016, permitting him to return to practice under restrictions as listed in the Settlement Agreement.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
