College announces decision regarding Dr. Aliasghar Norouzian

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that by the decision dated December 6, 2016 the Investigation Committee approved an agreement between the College and Dr. Aliasghar Norouzian.

Dr. Norouzian has admitted to misrepresentation of information when applying for a medical licence and that such a breach constitutes professional misconduct within the meaning of the Medical Act. Dr. Norouzian has consented to the revocation of his licence to practise medicine in Nova Scotia. Dr. Norouzian may only apply for a licence in the future if he satisfies the Registration Committee that he meets all requirements for licensure, including that of having the capacity, competence and character to safely and ethically practice medicine.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
