National Nurses Week

May 12 marks the beginning of National Nursing Week in Canada. This year’s theme is: The Power of Nurses to Transform Health.

The week aims to draw attention to the impact nurses have in shaping healthcare, driving innovation, and advocating for patient-centred care.

The College commends the dedication, commitment and professionalism of nurses delivering skilled and compassionate care to patients throughout Nova Scotia.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
