International Women's Day

College celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8

The College celebrates International Women’s Day recognizing the tremendous contribution and leadership of women physicians in Nova Scotia.

This year’s theme, Give to Gain, highlights the importance of taking meaningful steps to advance gender equality.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while also reflecting on the progress made toward gender equality and the work that remains. Advancing equality helps create more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable communities for everyone.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
