International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia

May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia. The College recognizes the importance of this day in raising awareness of the violence and discrimination faced by LGBTQIA+ people across the globe.

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia is a global moment of solidarity and visibility for LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities. The College also recognizes the tremendous work of NSH’s prideHealth and its ongoing efforts to improve access to safe, coordinated and comprehensive care for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
