Dr. Ogba, a family medicine specialist, attended the November 2025 session of the Welcome Collaborative.
In November, 29 physicians new to practising in Nova Scotia participated in the Welcome Collaborative’s final session of the year. The program supports physicians trained outside of North America to better understand the Nova Scotia health-care system and to settle into their new places of practice.
In 2025, the program welcomed a total of 90 physicians into practice in Nova Scotia. Of the 90 physicians who participated in the program, 59 were family medicine specialists and 31 practise in other specialties, including internal medicine, psychiatry, and emergency medicine.
This year, 41 physicians on a Defined licence made up the majority of the participants in the Welcome Collaborative program, while 30 were on a Full licence, 16 were on a Clinical Assessment licence, and three were on an Academic licence.

The next Welcome Collaborative takes place January 27–31, 2025 at the College and Dalhousie University.
