Physicians in Nova Scotia – An orientation for international medical graduates

Are you an international medical graduate (IMG) and want to work as a physician in Nova Scotia?

Physicians in Nova Scotia is a resource that provides IMGs with information about the Canadian and Nova Scotia medical systems, licensure processes, physician roles, and connections to provincial and national regulatory bodies and professional associations.

Physicians in Nova Scotia was launched by the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) and was developed in partnership with the Government of Nova Scotia – Labour, Skills, and Immigration (LSI-IQR). This resource was created with the support of the IMG community including the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia, Doctors Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Health, and many more.

If you are an IMG wishing to practice in the province, find out more at Physicians in Nova Scotia.

The College acknowledges that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors.
