American Board-certified physicians are now eligible for Full Licensure in Nova Scotia, without the requirement for Royal College certification. Nova Scotia is the first province to do so.
The College will also accept enrolment in the relevant continuing professional development (CPD) program in the United States in lieu of the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program with the Royal College or the Mainpro+ program with the College of Family Physicians of Canada…[…]

The College is pleased to announce the launch of the Atlantic Register on May 1, 2023. The Register will be available to all physicians in an Atlantic province licensed to practise without conditions, restrictions, undertakings or supervision. Physicians who wish to opt onto the Atlantic Register will do so by advising their home College and providing their consent. The annual cost is $500.00 and replaces all fees associated with temporary or locum licences. Physicians on the Atlantic Register can practise throughout the region as of right.

The Welcome Collaborative developed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia will help welcome and settle 140 doctors trained outside of Canada over the next three years. The orientation program aims to address gaps in the onboarding experience of these newly licensed physicians.[…]
