Program Manager Joins Welcome Collaborative Team

“As a new immigrant to Canada and Nova Scotia, I realize how difficult it is to relocate to a new country. The Welcome Collaborative program is crucial for physicians trained outside of Canada (PTOC) and are relocating to Nova Scotia.

As a seasoned academic, researcher, and administrator, I know the challenges faced by international students when they first move to a new country to pursue their education. These challenges can be compared to those faced by our physicians trained outside of Canada. Over the years, I have been actively involved in assisting international students to settle into their new communities. It is this same energy and experience that propels me to do this work with the Welcome Collaborative.

I believe the Welcome Collaborative program will make a positive impact on the lives of our PTOCs and their families. By helping physicians overcome the challenges of settling into a new community, the program can help them achieve success in their personal and professional lives. By connecting physicians with local resources and networking opportunities, the program can also help them enhance their skills, learn about the healthcare system, and contribute to the local medical community.

Doing this work with physicians is very rewarding for me as the Program Manager who is passionate about helping others.”
