Richardson of Halifax admits to the allegations contained in a settlement agreement with the College and agrees that they constitute professional misconduct. On August 30, 2011, a Hearing Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia accepted a Settlement Agreement advanced by the College and Dr. Violet Hawes and recommended by an Investigation Committee of the College pursuant to Section 57 of the Nova Scotia Medical Act. On April 26, 2011, a Hearing Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia accepted a Settlement Agreement advanced by the College and Dr. Heather McNally, and recommended by an Investigation Committee of the College pursuant to Section 57 of the Nova Scotia Medical Act. A prior interim suspension of Dr. McNally’s license is lifted. She is permitted to return to practice upon meeting prescribed conditions and once licensed, her practice will be subject to restrictions. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that Dr. Stephen Harley, a general practitioner in Dartmouth, has agreed to allegations regarding his breech of a 2008 settlement agreement with the College, and that these allegations constitute a disciplinary matter. As part of the settlement agreement, Dr. Harley is permanently prohibited from prescribing narcotics and other controlled substances.
