The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia announced today that the medical license of Dr. Stani Osif of Sydney Mines was revoked as of June 27, 2010 because Dr. Osif had failed to comply with conditions imposed by a Hearing Committee on June 26, 2008. In its decision, the Committee specified that Dr. Osif was required, within two years of its decision, to successfully complete a College-approved medical re-education program, including passing the Canadian College of Family Physicians Certification Examinations. The Committee indicated that a failure to meet these conditions would lead to the revocation of Dr. Osif's medical license and the removal of her name from the Nova Scotia medical register. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that as a result of a complaint and pursuant to Section 53 (12) (h) of the Medical Act, Dr. Abdulrahim Alawashez of Halifax has accepted a reprimand issued by the College.
