The College gives notice of a Settlement Agreement reached between the College and Dr. Bradley Atkinson, approved by the Hearing Committee of the College on May 31, 2018. The written decision of the Hearing Committee with reasons for the approval of the Settlement Agreement will be provided when available and published on the College’s website when released. The effect of this Settlement Agreement is to immediately lift the suspension of Dr. Atkinson’s license to practise medicine imposed in June, 2016, permitting him to return to practice under restrictions as listed in the Settlement Agreement. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that by the decision rendered February 2, 2016 and an Addendum Decision rendered June 3, 2016, the Investigation Committee approved an agreement between the College and Dr. Mohsen Yavari. The agreement states that Dr. Yavari’s licence to practise medicine was revoked effective February 16, 2016. The agreement also permits Dr. Yavari to apply for the reinstatement of his Defined Licence after the expiration of a minimum period of 4 months, if all criteria for the issuing of a Defined Licence are met.
