Hearing to Resume Regarding Dr. Manivasan Moodley

The Hearing to consider the matters raised in the July 31, 2024 Notice of Hearing regarding Dr. Manivasan Moodley that commenced on August 12, 2024 and continued until August 21, 2024, will resume on November 20 and 21, 2024.    The Hearing Panel has issued an exclusion order which prevents members of the public from attending the Hearing. Media are permitted to attend and may report details of the Hearing after confirmation from the panel that the information does not violate the publication ban previously ordered.

NOTICE OF HEARING regarding Dr. Manivasan Moodley

Pursuant to the Medical Act, S.N.S. 2011, c. 38 the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia will conduct a hearing to consider allegations of professional misconduct and/or incompetence regarding Dr. Manivasan Moodley, respecting three patients.  The Notice of Hearing detailing the allegations will be published on the College’s website on or before August 8, 2024. The hearing will be held at the offices of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia Suite 400, 175 Western Parkway, Bedford, Nova Scotia, B4B 0V1, commencing on Monday August 12 at 9:30 am and continuing thereafter on August 13, 14, 15, 20,21, 22 and 26 as needed.

College Announces Decisions Respecting Process for Hearing of Complaints Against Dr. Manivasan Moodley

On March 3, 2023 the Hearing Committee of the College rendered a decision respecting a procedural challenge brought by Dr. Manivasan Moodley respecting the hearing of three complaints filed against him.   The College’s Investigation Committee had previously referred matters arising from three separate patient complaints  to a formal hearing. College Announces Decision Regarding Satisfaction of Requirements of Prior Sanction Decision Respecting Dr. Manivasan Moodley

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that a Hearing Committee has issued a decision dated October 27, 2021 addressing whether Dr. Moodley had met certain requirements of  its previous decision dated May 20, 2021.  In the May, 2021 decision, the Hearing Committee required  Dr. Moodley to complete an ethics training program, as agreed between himself and the College prior to his return to practice following his period of suspension. In its October 27, 2021 decision, the Hearing Committee concluded that the course completed by Dr. Moodley in September, 2021 satisfied this requirement. Read the

The College of Physicians & Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that as a result of two complaints and pursuant to the Nova Scotia Medical Act, an independent Hearing Committee has found Dr. Manivasan Moodley engaged in professional misconduct.  The decision is available here.
