College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Agomeze Igwe-Omoke

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia gives notice that a Hearing Committee has issued a decision dated July 16, 2025, accepting a Settlement Agreement under subsection 103(1) of the Medical Act.

In the Settlement Agreement, Dr. Omoke agreed he engaged in professional misconduct in a variety of ways, including by compromising the quality of care by booking too many patients on certain dates, administering his practice in a disorganized and inconsistent manner contrary to applicable standards, and communicating inappropriately with a job applicant and a patient.  Dr. Omoke further admitted that his care did not meet the required standard applicable to family physicians with respect to care provided to eight of his patients.

In addition to having his license suspended during the investigative process, Dr. Omoke was issued a reprimand, required to complete specified education and undergo a 12-week assessment of his practice under supervision. If successful in the practice assessment, he will be permitted to practice under a customized supervision plan, under conditions approved by the Committee.
