Council & Annual General Meeting
The College Council composed of physicians and public representatives met in person for the first time since 2019.
The following new professional standard was approved:
This document provides instruction to physicians on how to meet their obligations to patients when limiting services to patients for reasons of conscience, religion, or scope of practice.
The College undertook extensive stakeholder consultation in the development of this new standard.
Annual General Meeting
The College’s 27th Annual General Meeting was also held during the day. The meeting, held virtually, saw the approval of Grant Thorton as the 2022 auditors of the College.
The following were re-elected to Council:
- Dr. Minoli Amit in District 1 (counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, Richmond, Victoria, and Cape Breton)
- Dr. Umesh H. Prabhu in District 3 (counties of Yarmouth, Shelburne, Queens, and Lunenburg)
At the meeting, the reports from the President and the Registrar provided highlights of the College’s activities in 2021. Reports regarding the College’s operations are available in its recently published annual report.
