The hearing regarding Dr. Richardson will not proceed as previously scheduled on May 9, 2022.

Pursuant to the Medical Act, S.N.S. 2011, c. 38 the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia will conduct a hearing to consider allegations of professional misconduct regarding Dr. George Richardson.

The hearing will be held at the offices of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia Suite 400, 175 Western Parkway, Bedford, Nova Scotia, B4B 0V1 commencing on May 9, 2022, at 9:30 am and continuing thereafter as directed by the Hearing Committee.

The Hearing Committee has ordered a publication ban on the complainant’s name and any information that may identify them.

The College has become aware of the sudden permanent closure of Dr. Naida Leckey’s practice for health reasons. This resulted in the temporary loss of the clinic phone line.

Patients may contact 811 or visit  https://needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca/ to be placed on the “need a family practice registry”. This will allow access to care through the VirtualCareNS program until a new primary care physician is available.
