College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Mohsen Yavari of Glace Bay, NS

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that by the decision rendered February 2, 2016 and an Addendum Decision rendered June 3, 2016, the Investigation Committee approved an agreement between the College and Dr. Mohsen Yavari. The agreement states that Dr. Yavari’s licence to practise medicine was revoked effective February 16, 2016. The agreement also permits Dr. Yavari to apply for the reinstatement of his Defined Licence after the expiration of a minimum period of 4 months, if all criteria for the issuing of a Defined Licence are met. The Licence of Dr. Robert Wadden of Halifax, NS is Suspended from March 1st, 2016 to May 31st, 2016

Further to a Settlement Agreement approved by a Hearing Committee of the College on August 28th, 2015, the licence of Dr. Robert Wadden of Halifax, NS was suspended for a period of six months, to be served in two equal terms. The second half of this period of suspension will be served from March 1st to May 31st, 2016. Dr. Wadden is not authorized to practice medicine during this period of suspension. College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Rayan Alhazmi of Halifax, NS

The Hearing Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia has accepted a Settlement Agreement advanced by the College and Dr. Rayan Alhazmi and recommended by an Investigation Committee of the College pursuant to section 51 of the Nova Scotia Medical Act. Dr. Alhazmi has admitted professional misconduct and has consented to a reprimand, a licence suspension for 12 months (retroactive to October, 2014, and deemed served), and ongoing restrictions on his licence to practice medicine, the details of which are outlined in the Summary of the Decision, below.
