College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Aliasghar Norouzian of Sydney, NS

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that by the decision dated December 6, 2016 the Investigation Committee approved an agreement between the College and Dr. Aliasghar Norouzian. Dr. Norouzian has admitted to misrepresentation of information when applying for a medical licence and that such a breach constitutes professional misconduct within the meaning of theMedical Act. Dr. Norouzian has consented to the revocation of his licence to practise medicine in Nova Scotia. Dr. Norouzian may only apply for a licence in the future if he satisfies the Registration Committee that he meets all requirements for licensure, including that of having the capacity, competence and character to safely and ethically practice medicine.

Important Notice Regarding Dr. Rafid Al-Nassar

The medical licence of Dr. Rafid Al-Nassar has been suspended, pursuant to Section 45 of the Medical Act, on an interim basis until further notice, effective midnight November 29, 2016.

Notice Regarding the Licence Suspension of Dr. Robert Wadden of Halifax, NS

Further to a Settlement Agreement approved by a Hearing Committee of the College on September 30, 2016, and in accordance with section 51 of the Nova Scotia Medical Act the licence of Dr. Robert Wadden of Halifax, NS has been suspended for four weeks commencing October 11, 2016 and continuing to and including November 7, 2016. College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Mohsen Yavari of Glace Bay, NS

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that by the decision rendered February 2, 2016 and an Addendum Decision rendered June 3, 2016, the Investigation Committee approved an agreement between the College and Dr. Mohsen Yavari. The agreement states that Dr. Yavari’s licence to practise medicine was revoked effective February 16, 2016. The agreement also permits Dr. Yavari to apply for the reinstatement of his Defined Licence after the expiration of a minimum period of 4 months, if all criteria for the issuing of a Defined Licence are met.
