College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Enyinnaya Ezema

A Hearing Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia has released its disposition in the case of Dr. Enyiannaya Ezema, pursuant to Sections 53 and 115 of the Nova Scotia Medical Act. On September 17, 2017, the Committee found Dr. Ezema guilty of professional misconduct having breached professional and/or sexual boundaries arising from inappropriate comments and conduct toward two professional colleagues. The Hearing Committee resumed January, 2018 to hear submissions prepared by the College and counsel for Dr. Ezema regarding the penalty to be imposed. The Hearing Committee’s decision and disposition were released July 3, 2018 and are provided below.

College Announces Decision Regarding Dr. Bradley Atkinson

The College gives notice of a Settlement Agreement reached between the College and Dr. Bradley Atkinson, approved by the Hearing Committee of the College on May 31, 2018. The written decision of the Hearing Committee with reasons for the approval of the Settlement Agreement will be provided when available and published on the College’s website when released. The effect of this Settlement Agreement is to immediately lift the suspension of Dr. Atkinson’s license to practise medicine imposed in June, 2016, permitting him to return to practice under restrictions as listed in the Settlement Agreement. College Announces Interim Restrictions on the Medical Licence of Dr. Manivasan Moodley

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia hereby gives notice that pursuant to Section 45 of the Medical Act, the following interim restrictions have been placed on the medical licence of Dr. Manivasan Moodley. Dr. Moodley is required to have an attendant present for all female patient encounters from beginning to end. The attendant must have an unobstructed view of any procedure performed. The attendant will be a regulated healthcare professional, approved by the College. A College sign regarding this requirement is to be placed in all waiting rooms and examination rooms where patients are seen. Dr. Moodley is required to avoid contact with his patients outside the clinical setting.
