Call for Nominations

Do you know of a Nova Scotia physician who exemplifies professionalism? If so, consider nominating your colleague for the College’s Gold-Headed Cane Award for Professionalism in the Practice of Medicine.

This award recognizes an outstanding community-based physician who exemplifies professionalism in service to their patients, profession and community.

The College’s Gold-Headed Cane Award for Professionalism in the Practice of Medicine is presented annually.

The nomination period is now open.

Nominations must be received by Friday, March 9 at 4:00 p.m.

Nomination Requirements

  • You and the nominee must be licenced to practise medicine in Nova Scotia
  • You must submit a letter detailing how the nominee exhibits outstanding professionalism in service to their patients, profession and community
  • You must include a biography and/or CV (curriculum vitae) of the nominee
  • You may include letters of support from other physicians

Unsuccessful nominations from previous years may be re-submitted for consideration. If you are submitting a re-nomination, please indicate this in your letter.

Nominations can be submitted via e-mail, fax, mail or courier.
