Ms. Michele Brennan

Ms. Michele Brennan has had a lengthy career in nursing education, administration and regulation.

A graduate of St Martha’s Hospital School of Nursing (RN), St. Francis Xavier University (BSCN) and Dalhousie University (MN), Ms. Brennan was an educator and manager in the registered nurse education program at the Victoria General Hospital from 1976 until 1999. She also taught in the Dalhousie University collaborative Bachelor of Nursing program from 1995 to 1999.

Most recently she was director of professional practice, policy and legislation for the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRRNS) until her retirement in 2013.

While at CRRNS, she was called upon to give a number of presentations to various groups on nursing and regulatory issues. She provided the Council orientation and education on the policy governance model of board leadership from 2002 until 2012. She has also served as a board member for the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and the Midwifery Regulatory Council.

Since her retirement, she has been hired on a number of short term projects for the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Regulated Health Professions Network.

Ms. Brennan’s interest in the College stems from an interest and commitment to the health care system and the regulation of health care professionals.

Ms. Brennan has been a Council member since 2014. She currently sits on the Executive, Professional Standards and Investigation committees.
