Online Review of Qualifications
Candidates who wish to have their qualifications reviewed to determine their eligibility for licensure in Nova Scotia are asked to complete an online review of qualifications.
NOTE: Applicants who are licentiates of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
AND hold certification with either the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) should proceed directly to the
application package for a full license.
Be prepared to provide the following information when completing the form:
- Medical licensing examinations completed
- Citizenship status
- Language proficiency information
- Medical education history
- History of postgraduate medical training completed within Canada or in the U.S.A.
- History of postgraduate medical training completed outside of Canada or the USA
- Certifications
- Other qualifications
- Practice history
DO NOT submit documentation with the form.
Language Requirement
As described in section II 5(b) of the Regulations for Registration, applicants must be able to communicate in English to the satisfaction of the Registrar.
Findings of a Review of Qualifications
The findings of a review of qualifications constitute an opinion regarding an applicant's potential eligibility for licensure in Nova Scotia. Decisions regarding licensure are made by the College's Credentials Committee.
Review Time
Please allow 3-4 weeks to receive the results of your review.
Refund Policy
Candidates submitting applications for review of qualifications are advised that the review process commences immediately upon their submission and that refunds are therefore not granted except in exceptional circumstances such as technical error. Under no circumstances are the findings of a College review of qualifications grounds for a refund.
